Acupuncture for the Chiropractor
Over the last few weeks I had a wonderful experience with Acupuncture treatment and I thought I would share my experience with you.
Recently I have been tormented with a condition called tinnitus or more commonly known as ringing in the ears. This tinnitus had been pestering me for nearly six months and is progressively worsening. Since I am nearly 50 years old I also have my share of unresolved aches and pains that I carry with me as well – since I was going in for care I thought I may as well have her take a look at some of these as well.
On a recommendation from my assistant I scheduled an appointment with an Acupuncturist here in San Diego, CA – Kimberly Hoover, L.Ac. The funny thing about this referral is that I have known Kim and been referring patients to her for almost 20 years. The only reason that I had not been to her for care before is because I am kind of chicken of needles (more on this later).
.
Anyway, my visit to Acu-Care was truly a remarkable experience. Kim had me fill out a brief health questionnaire, reviewed my answers with me and then explained a little bit about the history and theory of Acupuncture. Even though I had been referring patients to her for years she made sure that I understood what she was going to do and why before she moved on to treatment. She then evaluated me and she began treatment.
At the time that I am writing this I have had two Acupuncture sessions. After the first session – which lasted about an hour – my tinnitus was at least 90% improved. I also noted dramatic improvement in other areas that she worked on. The best part of all of this is that there was no pain what so ever associated with the treatment – in fact it was all very relaxing, I believe that I even fell asleep during a portion of my sessions.
Like I indicated earlier, going for Acupuncture has been a wonderful experience and I will keep you posted on how it goes from here.
Yours in Good Health,
Dr. Steve Jones
